If a cover helps baby to be less distracted or helps mom to be more comfortable, then I am all for them, but I cannot be convinced that they help moms “blend into society”–sometimes when I think a mom is breastfeeding, I have to look really hard–it’s often difficult to tell if mom is just holding baby or feeding him.
